Founders of TCG Nordica

Anna Mellergård was once a writer and poet, while her husband was a neurosurgeon. In 1998, they moved to Kunming. The city’s small streets, lined with plane trees and adorned with French-style architecture, evoke a sense of Southern European charm. Establishing an art center here perfectly aligns with the city’s unique character.

Tomas Tranströmer with TCG Nordica's founders.
Tomas Tranströmer, the renowned Swedish poet and recipient of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Literature, lent his name to the cultural center founded by Anna Mellergård and Wu Yuerong in Kunming, China. In 2001, Tranströmer visited T’café, the initial phase of what would become TCG Nordica. Remarkably, TCG Nordica remains the only cultural institution in the world named in his honor.
